Mid-Level Real Estate Associate AttorneyPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Associate Attorney to join our transactional real estate team. The ideal candidate will manage and lead complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and capital markets matters. This role requires strong drafting and negotiation skills, the ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously, and a client-facing demeanor to build and maintain relationships with borrowers, lenders, sponsors, and institutional investors.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements (PSAs) and related transaction documents for acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate properties.Prepare, review, and negotiate loan documentation and real estate financing agreements, including construction financings, permanent loans, and refinancing transactions.Counsel clients on real estate capital markets matters, including syndication agreements, preferred equity agreements, and joint venture operating agreements.Handle due diligence processes, identify and resolve title, survey, environmental, and zoning issues, and coordinate with title companies, surveyors, environmental consultants, and other third parties.Manage and coordinate the closing process, working with escrow agents, lenders, title companies, tax advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate closings.Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to clients and internal teams; serve as a client-facing attorney on transactions and at meetings and calls.Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals, delegating tasks and providing feedback to ensure quality and timely deliverables.Conduct legal research, risk analysis, and prepare internal memos and precedent documents to support transaction teams and business development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including tax, asset management, leasing, and investment teams to structure and execute transactions aligned with client objectives.Maintain transaction files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolBarred in CA4+ years of transactional real estate experience at a law firm, in-house, or with a real estate-focused practice, handling commercial acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, loan documentation, and closing deliverables.Experience with real estate capital markets agreements, including syndication agreements, preferred equity agreements, and joint venture operating agreements.Strong client-facing skills with experience counseling sponsors, lenders, and investors and effectively managing client expectations.Excellent drafting, negotiation, and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous transactions.Solid understanding of real estate title, survey, environmental, zoning, and tax issues affecting commercial transactions.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; proven time management and project management skills.Proficiency with document management and e-signature platforms; comfort with standard deal and document automation tools.Strong professional judgment, ethical standards, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.BenefitsParking401(k) PlanMedical/Dental/Vision Insurance10 days of sick timeGenerous vacation policyShort Term Disability, Long Term Disability, AD&D, and Life Insurance Benefits
