JOB TITLE: Property Specialist
REPORTS TO: Property Claim Manager-David Lowe
DEPARTMENT: Claims
POSITION SUMMARY:
Write estimates and appraise damages on property losses exceeding $25,000.
Company auto provided with covered gas, insurance, and maintenance.
Position: Full Time, Salaried opportunity with benefits Plan
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30 pm
Location: This is a fully remote position, must live in the state of Virginia.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Scope damage and write estimates on property losses exceeding $25,000
Write appraisals on total property losses
Assist PCR with any questions/concerns regarding property losses
Review PCR estimates for accuracy and consistency
Handle all aspects of the building portion of assigned claims including:
Same day or next day inspection/scope on all assigned losses
Complete preliminary estimate within 5 days of inspection
Verify proper coverage for all assignments
Obtain agreed price with contractor when possible
Obtain contracts and draw schedules when required
Instruct PCR on amounts to be paid by coverage and when to pay
Handle all supplemental requests including re-inspections as required
Maintain contact with insured and contractor until final payment is made
Provide support and assist PCR and assist in resolving contested property claims
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Train department and company personnel on property estimating and appraisals
Provide assistance, training and support for PCR
Handle entire property claims during CAT situations
Work and Coordinate CAT losses when required by Management
Assist with CAT losses in any area of the state as required
Train department personnel on use of property estimating programs and scoping
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
College degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years field claims experience
Knowledge of Xactimate property estimating system.
MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive Knowledge of construction trade and construction costs
Ability to effectively negotiate mitigation and construction scope and pricing
Extensive Knowledge of Xactimate
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High degree of organization
Proven customer focus
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
AIC designation
