About the Role Total Wine & More is seeking a Director, Facilities to join our Store Operations team in our Bethesda, MD office. This role will lead facilities management functions supporting our retail store operations across multiple markets and regions. This role will drive the execution of maintenance and repair programs, vendor management, capital improvement initiatives, and energy management strategies to ensure safe, efficient, and high-performing store environments. The Director, Facilities will partner closely with Store Operations, including Regional Vice Presidents and District Managers, to identify opportunities to improve the in-store experience, reduce operating expenses, and optimize maintenance performance across a multi-unit retail portfolio. This role will also collaborate cross-functionally with Construction, Store Design, Real Estate, Procurement, Accounting, and Finance teams to support lifecycle asset management and total cost of ownership initiatives. This position reports to the Vice President of Store Operations & Facilities. You will Lead and develop a high-performing Facilities team, fostering accountability, operational excellence, and strong customer service support for the field organization. Oversee facilities operations across a large multi-unit retail store portfolio, ensuring consistent execution of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance programs. Partner closely with Store Operations leadership, including Regional Vice Presidents and District Managers, to address facility-related issues, improve response times, and enhance store conditions and operational efficiency. Manage relationships and performance of third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring compliance with service-level agreements, quality standards, and budget expectations. Support the development and execution of capital improvement programs, including HVAC replacements, lighting retrofits, and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to manage facilities budgets, analyze spend trends, forecast expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on preventative maintenance, asset lifecycle management, operational efficiency, and reduction of total cost of ownership. Utilize data and reporting to identify trends, evaluate vendor performance, and support strategic decision-making related to facilities operations and maintenance. Partner cross-functionally with Construction, Real Estate, Store Design, Procurement, and Risk Management teams to support company growth and operational initiatives. Support enterprise-wide energy management and sustainability initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and reducing utility costs. You will come with Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ years of progressive experience in Retail Facilities Management. 5+ years of experience supporting multi-unit retail store operations across multiple markets or regions. Prior experience partnering directly with field/store operations leadership, including District Managers and Regional leaders. Strong working knowledge of commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance. Proven experience managing vendors, service contracts, preventative maintenance programs, and facilities-related budgets. Experience leading facilities projects and capital improvement initiatives in a retail environment. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, improve performance, and support business decisions. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across corporate and field teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and facilities/work order management systems.
