Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Facility Manager to oversee operations at a large-scale, state-of-the-art combined cycle power generation facility (1,000+ MW) located in the Midwest. The plant entered commercial operation in the early 2020s and utilizes advanced gas turbine technology. This key leadership role is responsible for driving the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the facility in accordance with all operating agreements, regulatory requirements, permits, and ownership directives. Reporting to senior regional leadership, the Facility Manager will serve as the primary point of contact with the asset owner and is accountable for overall plant performance. The position offers a highly competitive compensation package, including a base salary in the $180K-$230K range (depending on experience) and a substantial performance-based bonus opportunity. Key Responsibilities Provide overall leadership to ensure safe plant operation and a strong safety culture Ensure full compliance with environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and reporting obligations (including NERC) Oversee plant performance, optimizing efficiency, reliability, and cost management Lead, develop, and manage site personnel, including supervisors and technical staff Establish and administer training programs covering operations, maintenance, safety, and compliance Develop and manage annual budgets, operating plans, and cost control initiatives Oversee purchasing, inventory, and financial performance, including variance reporting Serve as the primary liaison with ownership, vendors, regulators, and external stakeholders Provide regular operational and financial reporting to senior leadership and ownership Ensure adherence to all contractual O&M obligations Lead outage planning and execution, including post-outage reporting and performance analysis Recommend plant improvements and capital upgrades, supported by cost-benefit analysis Required Skills & Knowledge Strong leadership track record in power generation or industrial operations In-depth understanding of combined cycle plant operations and maintenance Knowledge of environmental compliance, water treatment, and regulatory programs Familiarity with plant financials, contracts, and long-term service agreements Working knowledge of ISO/power market operations (experience in organized markets preferred) Ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and operational data Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Experience managing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and project management tools Experience Requirements Significant experience in the operation and maintenance of combined cycle power plants Proven leadership experience in a plant management or senior operations role Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred Additional Requirements Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces Willingness to travel occasionally as needed Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Heavy Civil Project Manager Baltimore, MD USA USD 100000 - USD 150000 Federal Construction OCONUS Program Director (IndoPacific Region) USA USD 150000 - USD 200000 General Superintendent Hampton, VA USA USD 100000 - USD 150000 Site Safety Manager USA USD 120000 - USD 160000 Senior PM Substation Construction USA GBP 140000 - GBP 190000 BIM/CAD Technician USA USD 65000 - USD 75000 Jobs
