The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the Position of Facilities Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Post-secondary education preferred
- Extensive experience in plant management
- Experience/Training in staff supervision and evaluation
- Computer proficiency
REPORTS TO: Business Manager
SUPERVISES: All custodial and maintenance staff
JOB GOAL: Supervising the management of all building and grounds in order to provide a pleasant, clean and safe environment conducive to learning.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports the District's mission and goals.
- Communicates clearly and accurately with all stakeholders.
- Oversees the daily operations of maintenance and custodial departments.
- Prepares and manages the annual budgets for these departments in consultation with other administrators.
- Oversees the assignments and supervision of maintenance work.
- Establishes and administers schedules for ongoing care and cleaning of buildings.
- Assures that the proper cleaning and maintenance supplies are available.
- Recruits, screens, and recommends candidates for job vacancies.
- Assigns, supervises and evaluates all custodial and maintenance personnel.
- Works with the Superintendent, Business Manager, Principals and School Board in developing and maintaining a capital improvements plan.
- Supervises the bid process and manages supply inventories.
- Negotiates with and hires contractors to provide services, as necessary.
- Plans for and conducts staff development for the departments.
- Oversees new construction and renovation projects, as necessary.
- Establishes and maintains a regular program of preventive maintenance.
- Prepares assigned state reports for facilities and leased space.
- Ensures that all facilities meet the appropriate life safety codes.
- Supervises the plowing and removal of snow.
- Assists the Business Manager in making recommendations and presentations to the Board and the Operations Committee.
- Serves as Asbestos Coordinator for the District.
- Oversees the District security, fire alarm and energy management systems.
- Directs the preparation of athletic facilities for competition and other activities.
- Keeps informed of the latest technology and products in the area of maintenance and makes changes and recommendations, as appropriate.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Business Manager or Superintendent may assign.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Business Manager.
