Japanese Bilingual Assistant Manager, Real Estate Investments Location: El Segundo, CA (Hybrid Work Available) Classification: Full-time / Exempt Work Schedules: Standard Business Hours; Hybrid Summary This role supports a prominent U.S. subsidiary of a leading global real estate development and investment firm. The organization focuses on strategic acquisitions and the management of high-value commercial assets across the United States. The Associate Manager will play a critical role in supporting investment activities, including underwriting, market research, and transaction execution. This individual acts as a vital bridge between U.S. operations and the global headquarters in Tokyo, ensuring seamless reporting, progress management of existing projects, and comprehensive administrative support for the U.S. office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Financial Modeling & Analysis: Build and maintain complex financial models for real estate investment opportunities and review investment memorandums, rent rolls, Argus files, and financial statements. Transaction Support: Coordinate due diligence activities, including property inspections, third-party reports, and lender documentation. Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive market and submarket research alongside competitive analysis to inform investment decisions. Relationship Management: Develop and maintain professional relationships with brokers, partners, developers, and lenders while managing the deal pipeline. Asset Management Support: Monitor business progress and key milestones for existing investments; review monthly and quarterly reports and track KPIs. International Coordination: Prepare detailed documentation and supporting materials for reporting to the Tokyo headquarters. Administrative Oversight: Provide comprehensive administrative support for U.S. office operations, including documentation management, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination. Executive Liaison: Support and coordinate visits for global executives and other international stakeholders. Qualifications The ideal candidate is a highly analytical professional with a strong background in U.S. commercial real estate and the ability to operate effectively within a multicultural corporate environment. They must possess a high level of adaptability and be capable of managing diverse tasks ranging from high-level financial underwriting to essential office administration. Required Fluency in English and Japanese proficiency are essential for internal and external communication. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related field. 3-7 years of professional experience in real estate acquisitions, investment, or capital markets. Advanced Excel financial modeling skills and a firm understanding of U.S. commercial real estate underwriting practices. Excellent communication, cross-cultural coordination, and multitasking abilities. Ability to conduct work in strict alignment with the organization's established culture, values, and corporate policies. Preferred Underwriting experience specifically within multifamily, logistics, or office sectors. Knowledge of Joint Venture (JV) structures and waterfall distribution models. Proficiency or experience with Argus. Previous experience working with Japanese corporations or multinational organizations; a deep understanding of Japanese corporate culture is strongly preferred.
