Qualifications: Preferred Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, construction management, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities, operations, or maintenance management Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or managing contracted services Working knowledge of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing Knowledge of applicable safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements Experience with budgeting, cost control, and project management Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing operational needs Responsibilities & Duties: Provide leadership, direction, and evaluation of maintenance, custodial, grounds, transportation, and operational services Supervise staff including hiring, training, assignment, performance management, and discipline Ensure all district facilities are safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs and ensure timely completion of repairs across all building systems Conduct regular inspections of facilities and grounds to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with applicable codes and regulations Manage building systems and components including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, doors, hardware, locking systems, access control, lockers, and partitions Oversee daily operations of buildings and grounds, including custodial standards, landscaping, and seasonal operations such as snow and ice removal Develop and manage short- and long-term facility plans, including capital improvements, deferred maintenance, and bond-funded projects Lead construction and renovation projects, including coordination with architects, engineers, and contractors Prepare bid specifications, manage service contracts, and monitor contractor performance Oversee inventory, equipment, and material procurement; ensure accurate cost estimation and tracking of labor and materials Develop and manage departmental budgets; monitor expenditures and implement cost-control strategies Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental programs (e.g., AHERA, IPM, stormwater, and water quality requirements) Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with OSHA/MIOSHA standards Oversee facility security systems, key control, and support emergency preparedness and response planning Monitor and manage utility usage; implement energy conservation and efficiency initiatives Oversee community use of district facilities, including scheduling, supervision, and fee collection Serve as an on-call resource for emergencies, equipment failures, and urgent operational needs outside of regular working hours Perform other duties as assigned Terms of Employment: Full-time, year-round position with benefits Non-Affiliated position, Non-Affiliated Handbook Subject to passing post offer background checks Apply Now
