Follow up with applicant regarding status. Secure new member's signature(s) on appropriate paperwork prior to move-in. Completes all work according to established CSI Support & Development procedures. Helping prospective resident members with the application process by explaining what they need to sign in the application form; this also involves answering whatever questions they may have regarding the forms they need to fill out. (Doing this helps make sure that all forms have been properly filled out) Performing credit and criminal background checks on prospective tenants. This task also involves informing a potential resident member that their application has been denied. Represent the company in a professional manner at all times. Assist management team with other various tasks as required. Competencies Discretion: The Leasing department often deals with confidential information. A successful Leasing Specialist must comply with confidentiality demands. Communication skills: Leasing Specialist must be good listeners and be able to communicate the needs and expectations of both the company, its employees, and members. Interpersonal skills: Someone in this position has constant interaction with company employees and members and must be able to maintain a positive demeanor throughout even the most difficult situations. Computer skills: Leasing Specialist must be able to effectively work with company's software systems. Physical demands This position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and significant amount of time on the phone. Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 30 pounds. Travel required May need to travel to co-ops on occasion. Required education and experience High School diploma or suitable alternative. No previous experience required Reliable transportation to and from work site. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong people skills. Work authorization/security clearance requirements Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulation requires all employees-citizens, residents, and nonresidents-to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
