This position will manage and direct up to two performance managers that will individually manage and support a market of approximately 6 to 8 stores. In addition, the Area Operations Manager will also have responsibility of managing and directing all store managers within a given area. This role will achieve sales and profits through leadership and training in accordance with Company policies, systems, procedures and provided training programs. The area operations manager must have a deep business understanding with the ability to influence remotely and work creatively with other business partner to drive operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Accountable for the sales and net profit performance for assigned area inclusive of all reported standards.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to provide solutions and recommendations to drive sales performance and long-term success.
  • Train and develop performance managers in their assigned areas of responsibility to achieve sales performance and operational efficiencies through the development of store managers and team members.
  • Monitor and respond to Net Promoter System performance and feedback within assigned area, promoting positive experiences that exceed customer expectations.
  • Visit stores within their assigned area to identify successes and areas of opportunity. Partners with the performance manager and store manager to address and correct the root cause of any operational issue and celebrate success.
  • Communicate performance expectations and makes certain all team members understand the impact of their performance on company success.
  • Demonstrate behaviors conducive of a role model during interactions with others, supporting the Mission Statement and customer first philosophy, while adhering to the Standards of Conduct and Business Ethics.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all policies, procedures and systems governing store operations and be capable of leading, training and enforcing compliance in the stores.
  • Cultivate and maintain productive relationships at all levels creating an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Monitors the progress and learning of team members, developing actionable goals, and evaluating performance against standards. Coaches team members through success and development opportunities.
  • Accountable for adhering to labor budgets and maintaining Corporate wage rate plans within their assigned area.
  • Administers standardized Schedules and Timecards system procedures, payroll management and labor scheduling to make certain jewelry consultant schedules match customer traffic patterns and administrative needs.
  • Attends all business meetings as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Signet guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws.Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving conflict.

  • Supervises two or more performance managers.
  • Supervises all stores in their assigned area.
  • Responsible for supervising the overall operation and sales performance of their assigned area.

Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 10 years retail sales experience, preferably with a jewelry or specialty retailer. Minimum of three years sales management experience with multi-unit responsibility or minimum of five years store management experience
