Real Estate Agent                                                                                               
Acting as the advocate of the seller, a real estate agent is responsible for obtaining new properties, arranging advertising, meeting with potential buyers, showing homes, and handling negotiations between buyers and sellers.  These positions require immense dedication and flexibility to meet clients’ needs and ensure successful sales. 

Real Estate Broker                                                                                               
With duties similar to agents, a real estate broker, or realtor, is responsible for working with both buyers and sellers.  They may employ the services of agents on a contract basis, but they act as a liaison between both parties to ensure a fair sale.  Realtor jobs generally require licensure, and are employed by clients rather than a large corporation.

Sales Assistant
Enlisted to assist with all real estate work, sales assistants may be responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing, sitting at open houses, delivering necessary documents, or general administrative duties.  These professionals provide clerical and administrative support to all professionals in real estate sales jobs. 

Marketing Coordinator                                                                                              
In order to increase a company’s client and customer database, these professionals are enlisted to contact businesses, organizations, or private individuals through advertising, networking, and various other methods.  They are responsible for creating leads for sales professionals to follow.  They may also be responsible for any promotional offers or programs offered by an organization.

Real Estate Analyst
Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting a large amount of proprietary and market information, analysts fill a number of real estate positions.  Candidates must be highly organized, detail oriented, and analytical.  They often work jointly with brokers, agents, and other sales professionals, so communication skills are integral.

Real Estate Consultant
Real estate consultants are very different from traditional agents and brokers.  By sitting down with clients, discovering needs, situations, and lifestyles, they offer the best advice for each case.  They are paid for their advice rather than closing a deal, and may even suggest that buying/selling would not be beneficial to the client at present time.  They work to ensure client prosperity rather than making sales.

Site Acquisition Manager
Site acquisition managers are responsible for a number of duties related to the attainment of land or other resources.  Acquisition involves the purchase of land; therefore these professionals are responsible for all processes involved.  They may ensure surveys, inspections, and all legal documents are thoroughly completed for each sale.  Extensive knowledge is necessary for these occupations.

Land Development Project Manager
Once “raw” land has been obtained, these professionals are responsible for managing all aspects of developing and organizing commercial, industrial, and private building projects.  An up to date knowledge of codes and regulations associated with each project is mandatory for a company to prosper.  Professionals must investigate, calculate, and analyze all aspects of development before beginning the process.

Facilities Manager
Large organizations often employ facility managers to handle issues associated with the operation of commercial or institutional property.  They are commonly accountable for structural and building system features.  In some cases, they may be employed to work with architects or construction managers to ensure relocation projects run smoothly.    

Property Manager
In the event that property owners are unable to or are not interested in handling real estate properties, property managers are employed to handle all aspects generally associated with rental or commercial properties.  For a fee, rental managers maintain contact with tenants and owners to ensure facilities are in good condition, payments are made in a timely manner, and both parties are satisfied.  Commercial property managers focus mainly on maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, and other tasks associated with business properties.  Licensure may be mandatory in certain areas.

Facilities Engineer
Facility engineers are responsible for managing, work order priority programs, and monitoring development projects.  They must maintain budgets and safety, and calculate any modifications that arise.  These positions may involve construction, maintenance, environmental protection, or project management duties.

Escrow Coordinator
Responsible for providing escrow information and supporting loan officers, coordinators review, complete, and analyze legal and regulatory documents.  Generally associated with mortgage companies, they ensure that tax and insurance is paid through the term of the mortgage.

Closing Agent    
By working with buyers and sellers, closing agents handle all transactions necessary for closing or completing the sales process.  They conduct title searches, acquire title insurance, and contact lenders or attorneys directly.  They will also complete a number of documents to ensure legal transactions. 

Title Insurance Representative
Sold to protect mortgagees and owners from loss or adverse claims, these representatives handle the sale and completion of all duties associated with title insurance.  Mortgages, easements, leases, or life estates require these professionals to prepare documents, and ensure legality of all transactions.

Financial Analysts
Financial analysts research securities and equity necessary for financing businesses.  They complete in-depth company research, compile a number of financial records, and write reports associated with business potential.  They also assign a summarized rating to establish financing eligibility.

Leasing Analyst
Leasing analysts interview potential clients to assess their needs and qualifications, in order to determine if they will be good candidates for lease or rental agreements.  Leases involve a number of documents prepared in accordance within governmental and organizational regulations, and these associates ensure the accuracy and completeness of each.  They must also analyze client financial records and report recommendations for approving or denying leases.

Space Planner/Designer
Associated with interior and exterior design, space planners assess company or individual needs and produce drawings, or project management designs for each project.  They may be responsible for interior or exterior decoration, landscape, or architectural analysis.  Designs must be client specific to ensure all criteria are fully met.   Computer aided drafting experience is often helpful for candidates.

Inspector
Often utilized during purchasing processes, inspectors offer unbiased opinions related to the structural integrity and overall quality of a home.  They assess interior and exterior structures to ensure proper analyses are delivered.  They may be utilized by real estate companies, or work independently for buyers. 

Zoning Specialist
With an immense knowledge of government and local zoning regulations, these specialists inspect property location, and projected uses to ensure it complies with necessary standards. They must enforce all laws associated with each. 

Appraiser
By thoroughly analyzing current market values and comparing adjacent properties, appraisers determine the value of property and buildings.  Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of public, private, and commercial industries.  They must also ensure all laws and local regulations are precisely met.

Title Officer
Title officers are most commonly employed by insurance companies and assist with or conduct the closing or settlement of home sales.  They prepare and review a number of documents, cover necessary explanations, answer any client questions, and ensure the completion of all necessary forms. 

Title Examiner
Title examiners are enlisted to review titles and research public records to determine a titles’ legal status.  Professionals must be familiar with a number of real estate and financial practices, and formal education is generally required for entrance into these positions.  Tasks may vary, but often require a great deal of skill and dedication.

Office Manager
Office managers must have a thorough knowledge of real estate practices, as well as an immense amount of training and on the job experience.  They are responsible for all activities completed within a real estate organization.  They must delegate specific duties, and ensure all company policies are followed. 

Administrative Assistant
Employed to assist real estate professionals, administrative assistants are responsible for a variety of duties ranging from organizational assistant to personal assistant.  They handle a number of scheduling, filing, clerical, secretarial, and reception tasks.  Administrative assistants must be able to multi task and work under multiple conditions.  These careers often serve as stepping stones into higher positions. 

Leasing Agent
To ensure maximum capacity, leasing agents must manage all leasing and rental properties and tenants.  They are responsible for completing paper work, handling all negotiations, and ensuring proper maintenance throughout the tenant’s stay.  Formal education and related experience are often necessary for entrance into these occupations.
